Shaykh Alihusain Datoo embarked upon an eight year PhD course in Islamic sciences after completing his studies in Sociology, Philosophy and IT. He completed his BA at the Islamic College for Advanced Studies (in affiliation with Middlesex University) and the Islamic Seminary (Hawza) of London. He then relocated to Syria where he graduated in Advanced Arabic from the University of Damascus and pursued his Islamic studies at the Islamic Seminary in Damascus.
Following on from this, he studied a range of traditional subjects in the holy city of Qum and specialises in Mysticism ('Irfan) and Ethics (Akhlaaq). He is currently studying his MA in London in both traditional and secular Islamic studies.
Over the past few years, Shaykh Alihusain has organised several youth retreats in the UK and has been a mentor on camps abroad. At present he lectures and teaches in various Islamic disciplines.
